Position Title: Business Development Manager, Travel Industry Sales
Preferred Location Florida, or SE USA
SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager position is responsible for revenue generation from travel agency partners and direct management of all aspects of Tour Operator business development in an assigned geographic territory. The BDM is responsible for increasing individual and groups sales for travel advisors and affinity group sales as determined by the Director of National Sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strengthening relationships and achieving growth with top tier partners through regular contact and informative updates with respect to their productivity and progress
- BDM will be responsible for physical and virtual sales meetings/calls each week
- Revenue growth of the agency partner is the primary driver of each call.
- Seek out and close affinity and group business. Assist agency advisors in identifying group opportunities within customer databases as well as local/regional organizations.
- Effectively and efficiently manage an assigned budget provided for the purpose of generating travel advisor and affinity group sales
- Identify and cultivate opportunities to generate NEW to brand revenue streams with existing accounts as well as new potential partnerships that will elevate Perillo’s market and brand awareness.
- Represent Company at industry trade shows and events (30-40% travel)
- Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate reservation agents and inside sales for further development and closure
- Close sales and achieve sales goals
- Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest and sales from accounts
- Build relationships with key travel advisors and be their liaison
- Provide multiple detailed in-house and webinar product training to travel agents. Co- organize and host client (consumer) presentations and product information sessions.
- Assist with other tasks and projects that may arise due to evolving business needs or priorities as directed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or related equivalent business experience
- Previous travel industry and strong sales experience
- Track record of results-driven sales and demonstrated ability to foster superior customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software and travel booking systems is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and present clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
