Business Development Manager
We are a leading software innovator for the travel industry. We create automation applications that assist travel professionals at the point-of-sale. Staffed with travel industry veterans, we offer a unique level of expertise in developing applications that interact with global distribution systems (GDSs) and other travel distribution channels such as travel supplier websites and direct connects.
About the Role
Your key responsibilities include the day-to-day B2B sales to, and business development within, the Travel Agency community. The role includes leading our company sales initiatives creating product marketing materials, working with others on the team to onboard new accounts, and to continuously help improve our products, processes, and the customer experience. We are a small company and your job will be exciting and varied, but always focused on sales and marketing.
Responsibilities and Criteria
We're looking for a salesperson who demonstrates a passion for sales and business development.
A self-starter, outgoing, who enjoys talking to potential and existing customers, eager to sell, learn and be part of the company’s mission to continue to grow.
This person will be utilizing travel industry databases and pipelines to introduce new customers and build relationships with existing customers. Candidate will need to be comfortable demonstrating software remotely and not intimidated by technology.
Will be patient in learning customer needs, explaining how our products can fill those needs, and moving customers through the sales process
Abilities to multitask, take initiative, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurately describing products functionality and benefits in marketing materials
Experience working virtually independently as well as a team player
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Ability to effectively train new and existing customers on how to use our products
Possess an understanding of the technology within the Travel Industry and how it relates to the GDS Systems (Sabre, Apollo, Worldspan, Galileo and Amadeus)
Ability to travel up to 15%. For meetings, trade shows and conferences.
2 years of Experience successfully selling technology
3 or more years of travel industry experience preferred
Skilled in selling B2B
Working knowledge of travel agency operations preferred
Comfortable presenting and training software to large and small groups.
Compensation: Salary and Commission Commensurate with experience
