Travel Data Application Manager

 Position Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)

Deliver analysis based on solid understanding of data sources and business needs.

Translate data into relevant information for travel and account manager to work with and present findings. This includes quality control and matching data from various sources into a consolidated database, conduct feasibility tests, generate reports and queries as basis for analysis and provide effective visualization of the findings.

Perform pre-analysis of available information and generate tools that allow travel and account managers to analyze enhanced information using effective visualization and self- service analysis features.

Partake in development of data specifications, business requirements and building of prototype systems for sophisticated corporate intelligence.

Provide statistical overview and possibly client needs for TMC's overall data strategy.

As part of a team contribute to specific service and/or product innovations

Support initiatives of cost reduction and increased productivity through increased usage of technology, standardize processes & equipment and deployment of IT Best Practices.

Maintain high awareness of current and emerging technology used to improve End User Computing Environment / Operations.

Work with project management and VP, Corporate to develop project roadmap used to align resources, budget, and priorities to provide direct impact to end users.

Direct oversight and responsibility for data science strategy.

Perform job functions when accessing company infrastructure and data with the highest level of security.

Monitor service issues and problem resolution with customer via direct contact through issue resolution and follow up with client as required.

Oversee and approve all travel requests and requests for time-off for direct reports.

Take part in weekly management meetings, providing team updates.

Assume and perform other data driven duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein.

Minimal travel required; travel to onsite events as directed.

Competencies (Job Knowledge)

 5 years travel industry knowledge

 Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Must know Sequel and Excel

 Education

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred.

 5 years practical experience with data processing, database programming, data analytics

 Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
