Position Overview

Adelman Travel’s vacation travel division is seeking a self-motivated, customer-focused, and experienced vacation advisor who is passionate about making their client’s dream trip a reality. Utilizing your superior sales techniques and travel industry knowledge, you will make an impact by selling and arranging various travel services, often luxury, complex group, or international, for new and repeat clients.

The desired location for this position is at our Springfield, MO office; however, we will consider virtual work for candidates with a proven established book of business.

How you’ll “move the needle”

  • Secure and drive client sales and retention through exceptional customer service, building relationships and obtaining referrals; cross-sell additional products.
  • Increase revenue and commissions by driving sales towards preferred vendors and suppliers.
  • Offer solutions and provide prompt resolution to clients' questions and concerns.
  • Ensure all reservations are reviewed with the traveler and thoroughly documented prior to invoicing; collect maintain client payment and balances due for transportation and accommodations from customer; invoice reservations according to company policy.
  • Build, maintain, and update client profile including marketing preferences with CRM.
  • Provide guidance and impart travel information to travelers, such as passport, visa, an inoculation requirements, customs regulations, and currency exchange rates.

Ideal experience and talent:

  • 5 plus year proven successful work history of vacation travel sales, including working knowledge of a customer profile maintenance product (i.e., ClientBase) and social media experience.
  • Superior customer service skills to deliver best in class service.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand customer needs to create exceptional experiences.
  • Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to demonstrate value and gain acceptance to close the sale.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Aptitude and ability to learn and familiarize yourself with travel industry process and terminology as well as with new and ever-changing technology.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, domestic and international, to attend meetings, tradeshows, educational events, etc.
