BookingBuilder Technologies develops applications in the travel industry. Our applications are the industry standard for helping travel agents book airlines that are not in their regular computer systems and assisting travel agents with tedious tasks at the point of sale. Our software is used by leading travel companies around the globe. 

We are looking for an experienced lead developer/architect/manager to both write software and lead our development efforts. To be considered for this position you must be strong in all of the technologies we list in this ad. Additionally you must have at least 5 years’ experience managing people as you will be leading a technical team of applications engineers and testing support. 

And finally, it is important that you can demonstrate that you have multiple years of working with, and developing for, applications that facilitate business travel, as these complex tools are the core of our business.

Skills & Requirements

Our main application is a rich client application that includes browser controls, SQLite database, inter-process communication service, web scraping, script engine, server data synchronization, reservation system interfaces, and other components. It is administered through our website, which includes management of the installed application, reporting, billing, data feeds, collection of statistics and other functionality.  You must have both ‘hands on’ and leadership experience in all of these areas. 

We are a .Net/SQL Server/IIS shop with some c++ and some vb6 components being migrated to .net.  Additionally, we have deployed a suite of automated test tools, and our expectation is that you will work closely with the test team under your leadership to use and enhance this technology.  You will also be responsible for leading the front and back-end development of a new web enabled product that we hope to release shortly. 

You have a verifiable track record of being…:

• A creative, practical problem solver with a track record of getting solid software products to customers in a timely manner
• An experienced coder who likes variety – much of your time will be spent writing code, but you will also be involved with managing build servers, NuGet feeds, sql servers, cloud servers, and working with customers on future requirements.
• Very experienced with creating software applications and troubleshooting them
• A big picture person who can understand and manage multiple components simultaneously
• Someone with a strong commitment to customer service. Customers pay us monthly and we don’t ask for long term commitments. We have to earn their business back every month. When a customer is down, we don’t stop until the problem is fixed. Most customers stay with us for years.
• Someone who understands how technology can be used to increase productivity and take over tedious, manual tasks.
• Someone with experience managing developers, including recruiting and hiring.
• Someone who gets great software done and out the door
• Working successfully with various travel industry technologies 

You have:

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience designing, developing and supporting applications (including both web and pc-based applications) using the technologies stated above
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in business travel technology that includes interfacing with one or more GDSs.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a development team that included software engineers and testers. 

You must provide 3 references that can attest to the fact that your knowledge, skill level, and experience match or exceed the requirements given above.
