SUMMARY:   The Air Specialist is responsible for the quoting, booking, and management of international air bookings in a timely, accurate, and profitable manner.  Position will provide air to, but not limited to Ireland, Britain, and Europe from North American gateways.  Candidate will have a strong working knowledge of air contracting, GDS technology, and ticket issuance.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle inbound and outbound calls from reservations/consumers/travel agents Review airline schedule changes and advise reservations staff/customers as necessary Ensure updates to bookings are made accurately and timely Process air cancellations and other related services promptly Understand and abide by airline contracts held with various airline partners Availability to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends Work in partnership with Group Department to manage the pricing and deadlines of group block air bookings Evaluate and suggest revisions and enhancements to air processes within system integration, supplier relationships and inter-departmental workflow REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in related field Have firm knowledge of airline ticketing system (Sabre Preferred), PNR Creation, Refunds and Exchanges Ability to provide superior customer service in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Products Strong presentation and communication skills Track record of being results oriented and quality driven
