Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Vice President of Client Solutions Group to be a key member of the senior management team.  Reporting into the Senior Vice President, the Vice President will be responsible for managing approximately $250 – $300 M of the company’s business.  The Vice President will oversee a group of Client Solutions Account Managers who directly manage client accounts and who are in a broad geographic region throughout the US. The Vice President is accountable for all strategic and consultative account management for the accounts within the assigned portfolio, including client retention, customer satisfaction and the profitability of the account portfolio. 

This position is virtual; however, ideal candidate must reside in the Midwest US or Western US.  The position will require at least 50% travel. 

 

  • Undertake the development, implementation and management of the Company’s Client Solutions business plan which includes consistently demonstrating Company’s value to the customer. 
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of quarterly, semi-annual or annual business reviews to clients to demonstrate Company’s performance and effectiveness in managing a client’s account.
  • Ensure profitability of each assigned client and overall portfolio.
  • Consult and advise clients on multiple aspects of managing their travel programs.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure the fulfillment of all service components, the delivery of value-added services and the overall success of clients’ travel programs.
  • Oversee Account Managers through performance reviews, development programs, coaching and counseling.  

 

  • College degree preferred or equivalent related work experience.
  • Proven account management skills which have been demonstrated for a minimum of ten (10) years working for a travel management company; at least five years should be in managing multiple account managers.
  • Presentation skills for a variety of audience types and sizes (2 to 200 people).
  • Proven oral and written communication and management skills to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences.
  • Strong negotiation skills to assist in obtaining best possible contractual terms.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data in order to identify opportunities to reduce costs and to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Working knowledge of financial and business models related to travel programs (GDS revenues, overrides, etc).
  • Clear understanding of the various industry fee structures available as options (transaction fee, management fee, hybrids).
  • Ability to consult with clients in an advisory role to provide alternative and creative solutions.
  • Basic mathematical and analytical skills for interpretation of data, trends, and opportunities.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of technical products offered by competitors and related industry offerings.
  • Ability to think strategically in order to create a vision, set direction and lead complex projects to resolution.
  • Ability to anticipate needs of client and integrate new creative ideas and technology as appropriate.
  • Ability to lead internal team to continue to perform to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Able to travel extensively
