Meeting Planner/Incentive Travel - Account Manager

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and leading the client, program planning, program execution, building client relationships, managing client financials and the Company’s cash flow, engaging suppliers with client priorities, and bringing creative solutions to our clients.  In addition, this role is responsible for consistently mentoring the Account Coordinators working on their team.  Functions as the main client contact and works to develop a strong relationship Acts as a resource to the client for program development and strategic planning of program goals; Remains current and knowledgeable about the industry to provide the client with creative and compelling concepts Schedules and facilitates client planning and debrief meetings to evaluate program results. Is accountable for successful program outcome. Seeks opportunities to expand business within existing assigned accounts Collaborates with Project Manager on contract inclusions for sold programs. Provides overall strategy and choreography of meetings and events. Initiates, plans and travels for site inspections. Negotiates and manages supplier contracts, including deposits, attrition, concessions, guarantees, room blocks, and master accounts Manages and works with hotel and supplier staff to exceed customer expectations.  Provides best pricing, options and program objectives.  Maintains logistical accountability of meetings.  Acts as liaison between customer, hotel and all suppliers. Communicates and approves all program specifications, event orders, and program details. Oversees design, marketing concepts and promotional campaigns, copywriting, and budget specific to the program. Is responsible for on-site program execution and direction of travel staff.  Implements contingency plans as needed onsite.  Works with Travel Services to monitor and adjust air budget parameters, contracted seat blocks, and ticketing. Provides confident leadership for the client, planning team, Account Director, and company through all actions and to be able to successfully execute programs. Manages program budget, cost-savings, billing, invoicing, and profitability. Tracks and reconciles all expenses, ensuring expenses are within budget. Monitors spending and outstanding receivables. Completes program reconciliation within established timelines. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Hospitality, Event Planning or a combination of education and work and experience is required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Hospitality and/or group/individual performance industry, with at least 2 years of meeting planning experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. Certification in Meeting Planner (CMP) is a plus.
